Annette began using milk replacer after she noticed one year that her females were looking extremely stressed out through and after carrying, delivering and nursing their puppies.

“We just didn’t see them sustaining their health - and we saw a lot of very hungry puppies saying “hey we need more.”

After struggling to make her own formula, Annette’s husband stumbled on to Grober’s Puppy-Gro.

“It was a welcome find. “It is definitely a lot easier than what I was doing, definitely a lot more consistent and the animals love it.”

Annette uses the products on both the moms and the pups. For the mothers, it’s put on their dog food whereas for the puppies, Annette starts by serving it as a very thick liquid formula. When the puppies reach about three weeks of age, she begins to mix it with mashed-up dog food.

“I don’t find the dog food adequate enough during the early stages, so we find that the pups are much healthier and much fatter and they do far better.”

She says her puppies “attack” the milk replacer.

“They’re very happy to have it. In a lot of cases you’ll see them walk away from their moms and go to the bowl because it’s that good.”

She’s noticed several improvements in the puppies since starting the Puppy-Gro.

“We’re seeing about 2 pounds a week once they hit the five week mark which is very good. It’s about double of what we had before on just the straight dog food. Their coats are better, more vibrant, and the pups are more outspoken, vivacious. They’re thriving.”
